Out of the three above Clapham Common is probably the one that is isn’t well know as the others. Never the less Clapham Common is one of the most visited areas in the south of the city. Clapham common has over 200 acres of some fantastic open parkland which is great to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the London town.
Clapham Common has a fantastic band stand in the centre of the park which on a summers day has some fantastic music played within it. The bandstand itself is very old and is roughly 120 years old and was built in the 1800’s.

The Common also formerly housed a number of windmills - the inspiration for the name of a popular nearby pub - but nowadays these have all been removed after becoming defunct.
Clapham Common has always been a place to meet with friends even as far back as the 1700’s, where local homes were constructed around Clapham common which allowed the local residents to use the common.
Clapham Common allows tourists and local people to Clapham and South London to chill out, socialise and catch up with friends. Clapham common also has great entertainment all year round and host great fireworks display held on November the 5th. Clapham Common also hosts some great regular events held as often as possible in the summer months, these events can include open air cinemas or music events.

The park is also very popular with joggers and dog walkers, as well as people who love nothing more than having a picnic in the warm summer months. Clapham Common has plenty to offer to every local and tourist to south London.
